Willy Willy has been with CLI since 1998.  He spent his first 50 years living with his mother and when she died, he lived on his own in an apartment with the support of CLI’s Independent Support Services with the assistance of grocery shopping and physician visits.  As he aged, he joined the Retirement Our Way program (ROW) to provide more socialization and stimulation.  Willy participates in a variety of Special Olympic sports, winning medals at every event.  With ROW he goes to the Senior Center, has a garden, helps in extra office tasks, and takes art class.  Finally, Willy wanted to live in a home with others. We found him a home with two other gentlemen where he still has independent time, but also the care and attention an older gentleman deserves.
