The fifth annual Frederick’s Oktoberfest was held at the Frederick Fairgrounds September 30 and October 1, 2006, and was again a resounding success! The event is a family festival, with German everything - live music, food, specially brewed beer, crafters, and children’s activities. Apparently we did something right, because we had the best attendance ever! Frederick's Oktoberfest 2007 is set for the weekend of September 29-30, again at the E-ventplex at the Frederick Fairgrounds. An Evening on the Riviera: On October 14, 2005, An Evening on the Riviera was held for the tenth time. It was a glamorous evening of fine food, music, and wine coordinated by Bob Rosensteel with the assistance of a few folks who know how to throw a great party. Community Living's role was to take care of the many administrative tasks associated with this gala, including ticket sales and "running the doors" (see Community Living volunteer door crew in picture, above) on event evening. An Evening on the Riviera has rightfully earned a reputation as one of the most fun and glamorous events of the year in Frederick County. After a hiatus in 2006, the event will return on Friday, October 12, 2007 at the Lynfield Event Complex near Frederick. |
